Here’s a guide on how to use your astrology chart to discover how you’re meant to make money.

This is the method I teach my AstroHD students to read and interpret charts. Astrology is not overwhelming once you understand the basics. Knowing the foundation of signs, houses, and planets allows you to easily interpret any chart, including your own.
Let’s start with the Second House—this governs how you make money, your material possessions, and how you create resources and self-sufficiency.
First, everyone has all 12 houses and all 12 signs in their birth chart. The second house will tell you how you create money and what influences your financial path. For example, if you see Scorpio across from the number 2 on your chart, Scorpio rules your second house. This sign represents themes like the occult, intensity, and surrendering control—meaning you’re likely meant to make money through pursuits tied to the occult, transformation, or embracing your passions.
A great place to generate your chart is astro-charts.com. When you do, go to the settings and make the house system “Whole Sign.” This makes it easier to understand as all houses will contain one sign.
The key thing to note: It’s not just planets in your second house that influence your wealth. The sign there is crucial, even if the house is “empty.” Each sign brings a unique energy, and its ruling planet gives even more insight.
For example, if Leo rules your second house but you have no planets there, look at where your Sun is in the chart. The Sun, which rules Leo, will offer clues on how to align with your financial potential.
This same logic applies to any sign—your second house’s ruling planet helps guide your financial path. The ruling planet’s location in your chart tells you more about how to fully express that area of life.
Let’s explore how each Zodiac sign ruling your second house can influence how you make money:
- Aries: Making money comes through taking action, leadership, and courage. Running a business or leading a project can be key.
- Taurus: You may thrive in luxury, sensory experiences, or things related to physical labor and pleasure (e.g., good food, design).
- Gemini: Success lies in communication, storytelling, or shifting thought patterns—use your words or mental skills.
- Cancer: Intuition, nurturing others, and emotional connection are vital. Money could come from healing, food, or home-centered businesses.

- Scorpio: You’re meant to make money through transformation, the occult, or psychology. This might involve helping others with deep personal growth.
- Sagittarius: Teaching, traveling, and sharing wisdom are core to your financial path. You may thrive in fields like education or spiritual guidance.
- Capricorn: Your business acumen leads the way. Structure and long-term goals are important, but you may also connect to spirituality for financial success.
- Aquarius: Your unique genius will shine. Think innovation, technology, humanitarianism, or revolutionizing how things are done.
- Pisces: Creativity and spirituality lead the way. You can make money through music, art, or healing, embracing your imaginative power.
No matter what sign rules your second house, use that information to align with your unique way of making money. Even if no planets are in the house, that sign still carries significant meaning.
